akashic-records-training-melissa-alexis-jacobsenMentioned by various names in virtually every major religious book on the planet, the Akashic Records have been described in many ways. In order to understand it’s true nature, let’s break it down into simple terms.

Akasha is a Sanskrit word that translates as soniferous ether or aether. Soniferous means, “of or carrying sound.” Aether means the upper regions of space, the heavens. This is the substance the ancients thought filled the heavens. Therefore, the Akashic Records are an energy field or a sound (vibrational) informational field recorded energetically in the aether.

History of the Akashic Records

The Akashic Records have come to be known as a repository where each individual’s journey, including details of thoughts, actions and feelings reside. In the Bible, the Records are referred to as the Book of Life.

The earliest historical records that indicate references and awareness of the Akashic Records can be traced back to ancient times. Civilizations such as the Babylonians, the Phoenicians and the Semitics reportedly believed in the existence of celestial tablets. These tablets were said to contain information on everything that had transpired in the physical world. They were also believed to contain chronicles of spiritual data.

In Hinduism, both the Vedas and the Sanskrit language itself were believed to have come directly from interaction with the Akasha.

Nostradamus , who was believed to have been able to predict future events, many of which have come true, claimed that he successfully accessed and navigated the Akashic records through employing methods that were extracted from Greek oracles, the Kabbalah and from Sufi and Christian mysticism.

Several other individuals have documented their experiences with the reading of the Akashic Records. These include Annie Besant, Max Heindel, George Hunt Williamson, Dion Fortune, Helena Petrovna Blavatsky, Rudolf Steiner and Edgar Cayce.

Methods of Accessing the Records

The ways of accessing or reading the records varies as much as the information gleaned from the records. Nostradamus was said to use a complicated method of water scrying which spelled out information one letter at a time. Helena Petrovna Blavatsky was said to obtain her information through her psychic abilities. Others have used sacred prayers, rituals, ceremonies and trance.

Edgar Cayce

A Christian mystic, Cayce was born in 1877. For 43 years of his adult life, Cayce possessed the ability to go into a trance by simply reclining on a couch, closing his eyes, and folding his hands over his stomach. He was able to tune into practically any type of information available. His work has been documented in more than a dozen biographies and literally hundreds of books and tapes. Most times his sessions were transcribed and over the course of his adult life, he discussed thousands of topics accurately, not knowing or having the ability to repeat the information in his normal waking state.

When asked about the source of his information, Cayce replied that there were two sources. The first was the subconscious mind of the individual for whom he was giving a reading and the second source was the Akashic Records.
